Mixed Payment Types

When creating a sale in Lightspeed for a customer that will be exported for Veracross, it is best to avoid mixing payment/tender types for that sale. When exporting you have the option to include invoices that have mixed payment types. If allowed, you run the risk of charging the customer twice. This is because the amount applied to the invoice from each payment type doesn't apply to specific items on the invoice. Payments only apply to the invoice in total.

Sales Tax

When exporting sales from Lightspeed, the rounding on tax can be slightly off. Lightspeed stores the sales tax value to 5 decimal places. When we pull individual items from sale invoices and then rounding up to 2 decimal places, this will be different from rounding up the sales tax from the sum of all invoice sales items. When running an export of 15,000 sales lines, a difference of around $0.08 was observed.
